the trifecta of feist videos is complete! ha. this was my theme song of 2007 - last year was all about FEELIN'. IT. ALL. yes.

this year is about...um, well, i'm not sure. haven't picked out my theme song quite yet, but of course i will let you know when i do.

the wombats are teh awesome. their album isn't out here yet but BAGeL ted clued us into their supreme rocktasticness & "moving to new york" has been my anthem ever since. not that i'm moving to new york. it's just, you know, i like the song.

the video version of the song is a bit different (more polished?) and personally i think the original version is better (b/c duh, it rocks) and i hope that they don't go and change all of their songs for the US release because that would be lame. did you hear that wombats? don't change for the MAN! stay true to the ROCK! yeah!

tacks, the boy disaster's EP oh, beatrice has been in heavy rotation on buddy 2.0* & my iTunes for the past few months & this track, "frozen feet", is my fave on the album. austin is like the canada of the united states. uh wait, that didn't make sense. see what i was going for was that austin is as prolific at producing kick ass rock music as the entire nation of canada. but...uhhhhh...yeah. so, this video is great! heh heh.



*buddy 2.0 is the name i've given the iPod i got for my birthday this year, replacing buddy (my first iPod - hence 1.0 after the fact). my shuffle is li'l buddy. they're all my buddies! hee.

a drink and a quick decision?

uhhh, so i just now realized that the title of grand national's new album, A Drink and A Quick Decision, is most likely taken from one of the smoothest songs ever recorded on vinyl and brought to my eager ears - oh yes, hall & oates' classic love jam (and a personal favourite of yours truly) "she's gone". you have GOT to be kidding me!

to say that this makes me lurve grand national even more than i did before would be quite an understatement.

the dudes in grand national might ape the police on a regular basis, but if this album title really is taken from "she's gone" then i cannot judge. anyone who appreciates such a rock gem as this cannot be faulted!

and now, for a little glammed out and (seemingly doped up?) hall & oates action - i never knew oates sang lead on this song! today is full of revelations. and is it just me or did oates totally inspire the vest-only tuxedo look from flashdance? you be the judge:

apologies for the feist-centric posts as of late, but holy crap is she making the cutest videos evarrrrrr. dancing, dancing, and more dancing. that is what a video should be. yep.

excellent marketing strategerie on her label's part too - first those webisodes and now a new video every 3.5 days? pretty smart there kiddos. can you hear that? it's buzzzzzzzzzz.

i think my head might explode with glee after watching this gloriously sugar-sweet, adorably awesome, magically colorful video. could my indie rock girl crush be any bigger on dear feist? apparently, yes. this song is perhaps the most pop-oriented on the reminder and might also be the most fun - it's definitely in the running as one of my faves on her new album, alongside "my moon my man" & "i feel it all" (plus, it has a banjo in it and banjo = awesome. always).

the reminder is officially out on may 1st - in the meantime try not to die of a cute overload. and would you please check out that blue sequin jumpsuit?!? omg, fierce.

ummmmm - what is going on here? last night i was catching up on my weekly dose of the hills (shut up, you like it too. and don't even get me started on heidi & spencer!), and you know how they play little snippets of videos while they're showing the credits - like "discover & download" or something or other? yeah, well usually it's some stupid emo band or evanescence or whatnot. but this time it was SILVERSUN PICKUPS. seriously. our precious little SSPU. on mtv. huh?

this is good because maybe the kids will start listening to good stuff and stop going to let's say, panic! at the disco shows...but then that also means that the kids are going to be at SSPU shows. with me. and i'm getting old and can't handle 19 year olds wearing eyeliner and band tshirts from before they were born. errrr, wait, i guess i've done that before...

crap - maybe i'm really a 19 year old emo hipster kid trapped in a 27.66 year old body?
