my weekend was better than your weekend.

awww shucks, you know i'm just kiddin' yo!

but man, i had a great weekend. and thursday. does that count as the weekend? i guess it does if you don't have a job, right?!? riiiiight.

thursday i went to sac to spend some quality time with my fave california girlies, dev and les. leslie and i were supposed to go see the dresden dolls, but alas, the show was sold out. sucky. so instead, we placated ourselves with the OC (oooh, seth cohen! aka, man of my dreams!) and little donkeys. and then went to the most excellently monikered backdoor lounge in old sac with nick and mike a. good times, good times...

friday night was spent with zachary at the san francisco brewing company where we drank copious amounts of barley and hops. i'm blaming my saturday morning headache on zack. that's right, he MADE me drink. "you like the beer!!!" all stern and german-like. how could i refuse/disobey??? i could not.

sat night leslie and i went to a fabulously delectable and enjoyable dinner at bissap baobab and then tried to find the make-out room. no, we weren't trying to make out, we just wanted to drink some beer. sheesh! instead, we stumbled upon the fine drinking establishment doc's clocks and met some interesting fellows. leslie can tell you more about our adventures there. heh, heh. also, we have decided that we need to live in the mission. 'nuff said. (yes e., go ahead, call me a hipster!)

anoche, willo was kind enough to take me to a *free* scissor sisters show at the warfield and it was quite entertaining...the crowd was eclectic and electric (and boa-fied. yeah, i know that is not a word, work with me here!) and a good time was had by all. i got to shake my booty and see my first show in waaaay too long...ali needs the live music or she will die. we all know this. so glad i've found a "show-ho" in willo!!! she rocks.

wednesday shall see an end to my freewheeling days of unemployment. so sad. but in order to support my voracious show habit, alas, i must make some money. so hi-ho, hi-ho, it's off to work i go... *sigh*.

i caught you a delicious bass...

leslie just sent this link to me and i about pee'd my pants. hours of fun for the whole family. napoleon dynamite is the greatest movie everrrrr! or, this year!!! i can't believe it wasn't nominated for an oscar. i mean, wtf stupid aviator...who likes that crap anyway?!? not this girl. dang!!!

sushi = yummm

on this fine wednesday eve, i met up with eric, katie, and erin at sushi main st. in half moon bay. my man e. did the ordering honors (way to assert yo'self e!) and we had us some fiiiiiiine fishies and great conversation. katie and erin crack my sh%t up...we decided to go into (imaginary) business together and start an all-female owned and operated garage and body shop, which i think is eff'ing brilliant! BRILLIANT.

on my way home i took the 1 and got to see the pac-o for the first time since being out here, albeit in the dark. i know it was there though, because i'm intuitive like that. can someone say yippee for living by the ocean? YIPPEEEEE!!! i'm lovin' it (a la j. timberlake & mickey d's)!

and i have to admit that i watched the season premiere of the ashlee simpson show tonight when i got home...i know, i know. please don't shame me any more than i have already shamed myself. i promise to watch something more intellectually stimulating tomorrow. hey, i'm on semi-vacation until next wednesday when i have to start that thing they call a jobby-job, cut me some slack yo!

and what did YOU do last night?

so, last night i met up with yet another southeastern ohio transplant, ben, at union square and we went for some chinese (i can't remember the name of the restaurant! bad ali, bad!), which was very tasty and spicy, and then headed to north beach for some "adult beverages" (as ben would call them) at the world-famous vesuvio. i also figured out where city lights bookstore is....for future reference and patronage. upon imbibing in a few tasty beverages at vesuvio, we headed to the irish bank. which, btw, is located down some random alley (wait, I'M ali! ahahahaha, it never gets old!) that looks sorta sketch, but the bar is actually very pleasant and cozy inside. apparently they serve traditional irish breaky on saturdays and sundays. hmmmm, i'm wondering what a traditional irish breakfast consists of?
