we've got alot to catch up on, my dear.

(or, more grammatically correct: we've got alot on which we need to catch up, my dear.)

so, i've been a bit overwhelmed in the time management department as of late, and thus my blogging (and my loyal subjects, uh, i mean friends) has (have) suffered. here i will attempt to update ya'll in easy-to-read and alphabetically arranged posts. see how much i love you?!?! awwwww.

____________

B IS FOR BIRFDAY:

as in willo's birthday!!! what a swell time...saturday night les & i made some yummy brownies for the birthday gal (we know she loves that chocolately goodness!) and headed over to her pad for a night of reveling. willo's little apartment is so cute! and she has a deck (NOT to be confused with a patio or a balcony...a discussion that lasted for the better part of a half hour! sheesh.) i want a deck! can i pleeeeease have a deck?!?

photos of the debauchery can be viewed here. notice there are no incriminating photos of yours truly...that is because i am a well-behaved party guest. no nonsense for this girl! heh, heh.

F IS FOR FESTIVAL:

earlier in the day on saturday, les & i headed down to the north beach festival, aka shit-loads of people crammed inside washington square park drinking beer & not smoking cigarettes.

it was such a nice day, and i liked being outside in the sunny fantasticness, but i think i needed to be sufficiently more intoxicated in order to be able to stand the crowd. i might be getting old, because i just don't see the point of wading through people to get beer, find a place to stand, & look for cute boys. that's what i go to shows for, silly!

anyhoots, here's a photo of les & i with some dude named bryce that leslie wants to make out with. hee, hee.

I IS FOR INTERNSHIP:

i (unofficially) start my internship on friday! whoo hoo!!! i am so psyched for this, and i can't believe it's been almost a month since i found out that i got it. next month starts the beginning of either a) extreme exhaustion accompanied by malnutrition & anxiety attacks or b) the best time of my life! let's hope i survive my three-job spree.

M IS FOR MAKE-OUT ROOM:

no, no, no. this isn't the new nickname for my bedroom (bah-dum-chhhh!). i met up with my girl willo, and her friend lulu at the make-out room to see say hi to your mom last night after work. apart from the fact that i underestimated how much cab fare was going to be (what a b*tch! cabbing it alone is rather hard on ye olde wallet, i must say), i quite enjoyed myself.

i'd never been to the make-out room before (okay, go ahead, insert sly remark here leslie) but, oooh, me likey. it felt soooo good to get out and see some shows this week, as i've been in a monetarily-induced drought in the live music department for the past few months. and i've been dying a slow, painful death as a result.

so anyway, say hi to your mom was great & i could see them perfectly and everything until "tallest boy in the whole bar" decided it would be a good idea to stand in front of me. which ALWAYS happens. i don't get it, i must be so tiny that they can't even see that they're making a better door than a window. bah!

however, my new friend mike, whom i met at willo's party last weekend, let me switch places with him so that my view was unobstructed by the giant. that was rather kind of him, huh? what a thoughtful gesture. :)

i also met willo's friend ted, of BAGeL radio fame, and he gave me my most favoritist gift that i ever receive under any circumstance - a mix cd!!! yippee! i listened to it all day today. i luv music.

oh yeah, AND i met trevor, who is the drummer in mike's band (well, trevor's band too i guess, huh?) hijack the disco. and trevor's friend, dan (?), who is in the minneapolis-based band, cloud cult. good man dan also provided me with a complementary copy of a cloud cult disc. two free cd's in one night? plus great live music?!? and beer! best. night. ever.

O IS FOR OHIO:

yep kids, i'm heading back to the place where i come from for a week long "vacation" in the paradise that is ohio. oh yeah baby, can't wait to experience humidity & pollution once again!

i'll definitely be "celebrating peace & social justice" (damn hippie!) at comfest, as it is only my most favorite time of year. yep, i love it more than flag day & international pancake day combined...and that's ALOT of love there my friends! unfortunately, i'm missing 78% of my friends' shows because for some dumb reason they are all playing on friday! wtf? didn't comfest know that i wasn't coming back until saturday?!?!? bugger!

and i have two words for all those who have been to comfest before & will certainly understand my yearning for the (second) best part of comfestivities - BIG. BEERS. yesssssss.

all my homies are gonna be back in the 'bus this weekend too- nupur (& scuba steve), kelly, pia, kendra, and of course the rest of the columbus crew that's still hanging around. i can't wait to see everyone! AND i get to see my favorite funk/soul/rock/reggae/blues band of all time - HOODOO! i wanna hear some steely dan, yo! oh man, this is going to be so sweet.

S IS FOR SPOON:

sunday night i took leslie to her first spoon show ever, courtesy of tinymixtapes.com & the fact that i have to write a review of the show (i'm working on it, marv! i promise!). it was splendid, and only made my affection for spoon grow even more fond. (uh, that was a horrible sentence, i apologize.) brit & company totally rocked my socks off & they even played my favorite song from the new album just for me! yes, they did i JUST FOR ME!!! i mean, what? how do you know that they didn't?!? that's what i thought. hmmpfh.

les took some good shots with her fancy digital camera, and i need to get those uploaded asap. as soon as i figure out how to work this damn contraption. i'm so the opposite of techy, even though i aspire to it with great enthusiasm!

that's all i got. peace out.

dig.

have you seen this movie, er, documentary yet?!?! listen my friend, you definitely should. trust me, i'm a (music) doctor.

it's kicked me back in time a few-five years when i was young & impressionable and listening to neo-bohemian/psychedelia & wearing alot of crochet and crushed velvet. ah, those were the days....hmmm, okay, that never really happened. whatevs.

so yeah, we got it from netflix and i've refused to let leslie send it back in so that i can keep watching it rather religiously. i think i'm up to 5 or 6 times now.

the insanity must stop. oh crap!!! i just realized that i semi-quoted susan powter. grrrr.

(yes, this post is backdated, i started it on the 15th, but got distracted by the damn dvd!)

die pigeon! die!

okay, so normally i'm all cool with the pigeons around here. you know, they lose their pants every once in a while, but i overlook it because they always leave me alone and don't do things like poo on me while i'm waiting for the bus....

oh wait, that's EXACTLY what stupid pigeon did to me today!

there i am, minding my own beeswax. with one dollar and 25 cents in hand, leisurely anticipating the arrival of the #1 to take me downtown for work. suddenly, there is a ruckus in the air. feathers fly. i look up. i think to myself, "huh, that pigeon just lost a feather, look there it goes floating away...oh wait, what's that...falling ever so quickly right toward my...oh shit! literally! that stupid pigeon just shit on me!"

yep, pigeon took a crap right on my shirt. luckily, it was a small crap and i was a half a block away from my house. but nonetheless, i still had poo on my shirt. ewwwwww!!!

pigeon, if you read this, you must know that this is war. our wonderful time of peaceful coexistence is now over. O-V-E-R. maybe if you would've worn your pants like a good pigeon, you would've crapped those instead of crapping all over me. but what's done is done, and if i ever see you again, you'd better fly off in the other direction. no one likes an insensitive pigeon, lest the likes of me.

good day sir, good day!

new look. same great taste.

yep, i changed the template for my blog. i was getting a bit bored of the old one. i need a little spice in my life...uh, is it sad that changing the template for my blog is considered spicy to me?

the infamous umlaut.

both willo & leslie-lou have already posted this, but it's SO FRIGGIN' COOL! love it.

this is so rad! spelling with flickr rules.
