trivial pursuits.
firstly, today is mike's birthday so - HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIKE!
i am dying dying dying to give him his present. it's a four parter. and all the parts make a whole. it's not a puzzle, i promise. ha! i'd tell you what it is but then if he reads this that would ruin the surprise and i already told him i got him a mini-cake & that was supposed to be a surprise too. sometimes i am not good at surprises. hee.
__________
last night trivial hirsute made a triumphant return to the top spot & secured the finest bottle of champagne at tonic (not saying much) as well as some cash moneeeeeeey. huzzah! also, i got to tell the jackasses that came over to our table before the game started and tried to steal our chairs, and sort of insulted us/taunted us that they were going to win, that they could suck it...yeah, that's right boys! okay, so i didn't really tell them to suck it but they could tell that's what i meant by my eeeeeeyes. i have very expressive eyes, you know. heh.
highlights included:
- me blurting out the answer to a question before it was even asked (a follow up to the which band was the first to have a video on mtv question - who was the second? that would be one miss PAT BENATAR. oh yes.)
- trammell & i performing an interpretive dance
- two shot questions correct, thanks to sean
- tootsie!
- the new announcer dude befriending us & secretly rooting for our victory (in my opinion)
after trivs everyone was going to head to bottom of the hill to see dirty projectors and i respectfully declined b/c i was planning on heading home and going to bed early so that i could get up and go swimming. however, after stopping to get a slice of pizza on my way home, i was ambushed & kidnapped by sean & ron who made me, that's right MADE me, go to the show. whaaaaa?!? unfortunately, once we got there we realized that it was sold out (d'oh!) so we went to the 500 club instead. jukebox domination ensued. fanny was also trying to get into the show but couldn't, so she came & met us at the bar for a drink & then we all went home. good times.
needless to say, i did not get up and swim this morning. oops!

birthdays are FABULOUS.
saturday night was misty's rock n' roll birthday cocktail party - and it was fabulous. i love any excuse to dress up/dress crazily/dress ridiculously, good thing i live in SF! i got a cute black & white cocktail dress from forever 21 a few weeks ago & was dyyyyyyying to wear it, so thanks for fanc'in it up, misty!

unfortunately, the presents i ordered for misty did not arrive in time (wtf) so i was giftless. booooo. i suppose i'll have to wait to give them to her this weekend at her bachelorette party weekend up in russian river. and you know that's going to be a whole 'nother story. huzzah!
as with any of our parties, after hours of drinks & chatting, things evolved (devolved?) into an all night disco party, but not before a runway fashion off (we are so dorky) was staged. i must say, my friends are excellent catwalkers. must be all that american's next top model we watch. FIERCE!
unfortunately, i think that misty & ted's little kitty, jetta, might be trying to steal mike away from me - that (adorable, but still what a) little homewrecker! hee hee.

also, ted bestowed upon me a set of kick ass logitec speakers for my house b/c i don't have speakers! yes, i know, this seems impossible but it's true. it's shameful, really...but thanks to ted & willo my shameful situation has been rectified!

willo, misty, and ted took tons of awesome photos. i think you'll get the idea that we had a good time. haha. happy birthday, misty! you are the BEST! xoxo

little baby's all grows'd up.
my baby brother is twenty-one years old today - awwww yeah, he's finally legal! i am simultaneously overjoyed and terrified b/c this means that i have a 21 yr old brother and i can recall where i thought i'd be in my life whence he turned 21. oh wells.
i guess my mom & garry took him out to dinner tonight and garry ordered him a beer & my mom was like "ooooh, your first beer!" - haha, yeah right! moms are funny.

me & the bub. so precious.
jay has looked 21 since he was 15 so it's not like this is a big deal for him, but at least he's actually, certifiably legal now. i just got off the phone with him and he was at a pub in marietta, getting ready to watch the ohio state game - but actually quite responsibly said he wasn't going to get wasted because he has a test tomorrow. (!?!?!) how mature. which is exactly how i was when i turned 21 too. yep, totally. uh huh. what?!?
in any event, i can't wait to go booze it up with him - because what's a little brother for, if not to get drunkle with and embarass in front of all of his friends?!?
exactly.
happy birthday bubbalicous! i love ya, kiddo! xoxo
