milkshakes and curly fries.
there are lots of fun things that i need to blog about but i'm in the process of dyeing my hair brown (!) and i have to make sure i don't leave the deadly hair colour on too long and let it seep into my brain. eep!
sunday night i went to my first live rock show of the year. uh huh, take a moment to process that. yep, ali hadn't seen live music since BEFORE the new year. i know - it baffles me as well. things have been so busy with getting back to work after the holiday break and i've been trying to lay low - especially with the mcleod-related illness. and i was supposed to go see alex's band on saturday but i got a stupid migraine and couldn't even make it out of my house to get coffee all day - which i'm sure didn't help the headache. anyway, i digress...
a whole gaggle of my peeps rallied to go see my current musical obsession that i will not stop yammering on and on about and thus they knew if they didn't go to the show with me i would defriend them and frown upon their lameness. oh yeah, the band? the changes! w00t w00t! somehow my blogging prayers were answered and they ended up playing out here and i was soooo psyched to see them that i almost imploded (because exploding is so uncouth) with glee. GLEEEEEE!
anyway, they were sooooo rocktastically awesome and played my current jammy jam, "the machine", and i swear i did not stop smiling for their whole set. i heart music. and then to make matters even MORE AWESOME division day played a super fun set, during which i had a magical realization that these sorts of shows are why i am addicted to rock. not THE rock, 'cause crack is whack (uh, totes, whitney says!), but rock music. yeah, i'm sure everyone else knows that about me, but i guess i momentarily underestimated it & my inner show ho pro was definitely reawakened and invigorated. good thing i have a bazillion shows to go to for the next three months. awww yeah.
oops - time to rinse! brb.
okay back! success!!! ummm, where was i? oh, okay - so after the show i got a chance to chat it up w/ the changes boys who were sooooo nice (hi boys!) and fun, which made me happy b/c sometimes bands that i love are not nice in real life and that makes me not like their music as much anymore. but no worries here! awesomestest (non-sf) band boys ever. i *officially* heart them. and after the show teddy, cam, aubs, and i went to sparky's w/ them and had milkshakes and curly fries. i'd say that's a pretty good sunday night, wouldn't you?
i'm attempting to write a complete, professional* review of the show for my other blog but this week has been insanely busy so far...i'm working on it though, i promise.
oh! and make sure you go check out the changes when they come back to SF to play noise pop on march 3rd @ the rickshaw too! okay, i'm done now.
*and by professional i mean less zomg w00t w00t's and more actual music geek speak. and no milkshakes or curly fries. heh.
