monday i met ben gibbard.
yeah, you got that right suckaaaaaas! ha. we share/rent office space from death cab's manager, and since they were in town for the shows at the warfield, ben came into the office. jordan was giving him a tour & they came over to check out our space. i tried to play it cool, and he was like "hi, i'm ben." and inside i was like "ahhhhhhhhhhh! of COURSE you are!", but outside i was like "hey, i'm ali." dang, i'm an idiot. haha!
monday night after work i met up w/ darius, willo, & her friend mario for the death cab show. it was so great! the last time i saw them, which was a little over a year ago, i was convinced to go by some friends who were huge fans and kept telling me that i'd like them (i was still skeptical, i had tried to get into them many times, but something was holding me back. i couldn't figure it out - i mean, i love this kind of shit, right? but i wasn't impressed...yet. then i saw them live & totally fell in love with them! ah, good story. *wink*) i didn't know any of their stuff last time, but this time i knew ALL of the songs they played (a nice mix of old, OLD tracks and new songs) and that made it five thousand times better. yay!
darius scored us some VIP passes & we got to hang in the hospitality room after the show. but i didn't get to hang out w/ the band. rather, i hung out next to the band. i'm such a nerd that i can't pretend to be all cool & hang out & introduce myself and blah blah blaaaah. i feel like a dork. so then i left.

I'm impressed you didn't tell him your name is ben...
weird! I didn't know your office was next to Jordan's! He's married to my friend Tara. Small ass world.
Oh, and I *heart* death cab and am totally jealous you met Ben!!
