have you seen my happy face?
'cause here it is:

i don't think i have ever been more high on music (for lack of a better term) than i was friday night at the my morning jacket show. for starters, they wanted the crowd to dress up as faeries, goblins, & wizards or in olde-timey victorian parlour costumes b/c they were filming the show(s) for a dvd or video or something. to which i say AWESOME. i will respond to any request/excuse to dress up. plus, i got to wear my hot pink boots for the second time in two weeks. yesssss.
they didn't allow photos to be taken during the show b/c they were taping it, but willo managed to keep her camera out of coat/camera check b/c she promised not whip it out (her camera, that is. tee hee) during the show. and which she didn't. BUT, she did get some funtastical shots of the after-show (with background shots of the stage - which was decorated like a magical, mystical forest & was quite possibly the prettiest set design i have ever seen at a rock show. wait, not possibly. definitely!) & the continued show-ho revelling at the hemlock.

anyway, back to the show - seriously, it was probably the BEST show i've been to in my life. or at least in recent memory. i think it was just because of the whole fun/costumey element of the the whole thing & the energy of the crowd & that of the band & let's face it, the jacket is just kick ass anyway & they played for 2 hours or something crazy like that (which i would normally be totally bored with - but i was like 'gimme more, yeeeeeeaaaaah'!) and hells yes, i love them. i was still on a total music high the next morning when i woke up for work, which i think helped out w/ the hangover element!!!
oh yeah! AND i got a set list!!! whoo hoo. awesome.
things i noted to willo during the show, that are completely unrelated to the music:
1) i forgot that i like the whole suit jacket w/ hoodie combo thing that some boys have going on. very nice.
2) apparently dressing like a faerie invites drunken, slobbery boys to tell you that you're hot & makes them want to dance with you. ewww.
3) converse sneakers with a suit is extra hotttt. when i get married, i want my future husband to rock this look. no joke.
4) um, i forgot. the end.
