two down. two to go...
so, my week of rock excess has started itself off on a very good foot.
tuesday willo & i went to the architecture in helsinki show @ slim's (my first time there - check!) and it was fabulous. they are so f-u-n, FUN!!! love that there are five trillion peeps in the band (okay, more like eight. whatevs.) and that they have a horn section. gotta love the horns. the downside was that it was really stinking hottt in there, but the ultimate highlight of the night was the encore, when architecture brought out dr. dog & still flyin' and they all sang "bohemian rhapsody". no joke! it was fantabulous. i couldn't stop laughing! but in a good way. yessssss.
last night e.case took me to calexico/iron&wine because he is an awesome friend & he loves me. i got to meet dom & mer too, finally!!! yay.
so, ohmigosh, the show was so freakin' spectacular & i had one of those moments where i realized how much i really love music. i know, i know - how could i not recognize this on a daily basis? but i'm around/listening to music so much that sometimes i don't actually THINK about how much i love it. but there was actually a moment during the combined calexico/iron&wine set that i almost cried it was so good. how dorky is that?!?! oh crap, i said that out loud. dang dang dang.
tonight i'm gonna rock out to the sounds of my boys hijack the disco - good times.
