let it die.

blog slacking continued:

i saw feist at the fillmore two weeks ago (i know! slacker!) and it reawakened my obsession with her album let it die, and specifically the title track which has been on repeat since...the lyrics are actually pretty straightforward and simple and are so dead on ("the saddest part of a broken heart, isn't the ending so much as the start..."), but it's her amazing voice that just makes your soul ache.

she might possibly be one of my favorite performers - not only does the girl kick ass, rock the guitar, have an absolutely chill-inducing voice, but she's so CUTE! (hi, top five indie rock girl crush), and personable, and connected to the audience, and appreciative, and humble and oh my gosh i could go on an on but then i'd look (even more) like a psycho stalker fan and i'm not that. i just want to be her. hee.

during "secret heart" she brought this chick up on stage to sing and of course i'm thinking "yeah yeah, this will be interesting...i hope i'm not embarrased for this girl" - but she was AWESOME! she had an amazing voice and was so into it that she TOOK THE MIC OFF THE MIC STAND AND STARTED ROCK STAR POSING and it was awesome!

later in the show, there was even a tap dancer. a TAP DANCER!

leslie feist, you are awesome, will you be my BFF?!?
