thursday night willokins and i went to see the dandy warhols at the fillmore - earlier in the day i did some research as to what band was supporting them & found out that the out crowd was, and that the band is fronted by matt hollywood (formerly of the brian jonestown massacre)!!! seeing as how i've been obsessed with dig! for about 6 months now, i was psyched.
i was also pumped b/c i'd never seen the dandys - and neither had willo, amazingly enough - and even though i'm not too into their new disc, i was hoping that they'd play alot of their older stuff...and they did! they played pretty much every song i wanted to hear. yesssssss. the set lagged a bit in the middle, but they brought it back up near the end. i think that the fact that i had already been to two shows earlier in the week & had been working my arse off this week had a little to do w/ my attention-span problems.
i also realized that courtney taylor-taylor is kind of annoying - when he speaks. i was like "please courtney, don't talk - just keep singing and playing your guitar & being hot - you are ruining my crush by speaking!" sorry. he was also wearing SWEATPANTS! no joke. well, more like track pants, i guess. and a pilot's cap. but whatever, he's still hotttt.
during the dandys set, matt hollywood was hanging around in the crowd, up front where we were standing. it was so weird to see him, not on a tv screen. it was kind of surreal actually. because i've seen the dvd so many friggin' times i feel like i kind of know him? does that make sense? but obviously i don't. it's kind of like reading someone's blog before you meet them, and then when you meet them, you're like "oh yeah, i know all about your trip to wherever and how your dog just had puppies, etc." man, i'm such a nerd! ha.

hahhahaa... we are so alike! I was totally having attention span probs at that show. we're show ho burnouts. hahhaa!
rad you blogged about the sweatpants - I almost forgot about that! haha! I agree, I thought he was going to be way more charming & sexy up there, but I was like either woo me or rock me dude. at least he did pull out some rock, but there was no woo. :)

as things go, always consider the double name as a tip off to the larger than normal ego that will inevitably go with said owner of the double name...
