i'm a fish.
second day of my swimming adventure and i'm feeling pretty strong - it's weird, i was talking to ben this morning on my way to work & told him about how i was faster than all the other people in the fast lane today (hot swimmer boy from tuesday was not there, he's way faster than i am for sure) & felt like i was kickin' some ass, and he had to remind me that my definition of slow is probably biased & to stop being such a smarty pants. ha! fair enough.
i will tell you that being the fastest one in my lane certainly appeals to the overacheiver/type A personality part of me. haha.
i also found out today that the pool is 30 yards long - not the standard 25. so this whole time i've been swimming what i think are 50's and 200's and whatnot & they're actually longer! whatevs, i'm just going to pretend that it's 25 yds while i'm swimming and then convert it later. math is hard.
today i swam (in my 25 yd pool assumption):
200 yd freestyle warm up
10 - 50 yd free set
5 - 100 yd alternating breaststroke/free by 100's (3 x breast/2 x free) set
200 yd free "sprint"
100 yd free cool down
total: 1500, but really 1800 b/c of the weird ass pool length.
not bad, eh? i'm sure all of this is very interesting (hech hmmm) but i had to write about something and it might as well be this. plus, if i have to tell the internets what i do then i feel somewhat more accountable/motivated. w00t!

wow!! that's awesome!
how long did all those laps take you?
about 40-45 mins i guess? what's awesome is that i woke up, walked to the pool (which is a little over a mile away), swam for 45 mins or so, took the bus back (those hills are ridonkadonk & i refuse to kill myself walking home from EXERCISING), and i was home by 8:30 - my "normal" wake up time! haha.
*it should also be noted that i have to walk a half mile home from the bus stop. so it's not ALL that lazybones. ;)
haha - I love that one of your labels is "boring". Oh, and kick ass on the swimming. One day, I too will exercise again.
not boring at all - let's hear more about this hot swimmer boy
again, go you! i might use some of that workout with my swimmers this winter... can't do a whole lot more with only 40 minutes to practice.
and math is not hard! you did...
240 yd warm up
60 yd free
120 yd alt. breast/free
240 yd free sprint
120 yd warm down
(mult 5 x how many lengths you did and add to the "normal" length)
:) middle school math teacher debi
haha - yeah i do that, but only after the fact. it just feels wrong to me that i'm swimming 60 yds instead of 50! it's not right - i have no idea why they made the pool this crazy length that NO ONE swims. duh. ;)
