in ur cafeteria, eatin' ur foodz.

today i headed down to youtube to have lunch w/ michele who is the music content editor there & to get some advice/words of wisdom from her in regard to furthering my career, especially the writing part which i feel gets pushed aside b/c i get so busy with my "real" jobs. i think my main problem is that i am stuck in the mindset that writing isn't a real job b/c i have never really been paid (other than writing content for activemusician) to do it. and unfortunately, seeing as how i don't have a big fat wad of cash that i roll around in, i need to be paaaaaaid in order to maintain the rock n roll lifestyle of which i aspire to lead. hee.

anyway, my awesome roomie steph set up the lunch and after a BART journey down to san bruno (on which i found out that you can take BART directly to the freakin' sweet, ginormous target down there - the stop is literally AT the target! omg.), i got a tour of the youtube offices & had a tasty (free!) & informative lunch w/ michele & steph at the cafeteria. 'twas awesome! basically michele opened up my eyes to the fact that i actually do have a lot of connecctions that i should be taking advantage of - but in the best possible way. and that i just need to put myself out there and let it be known that i want to write! DID YOU HEAR THAT UNIVERSE? oh, and that i should update my music blog regularly (shame shame). and that editors like writers who meet their deadlines - something that i guess not a lot of writers are capable of! haha.
