air guitar championships, no more b.reps, regina spektor, holy crap is it nice outside today!
thursday night the gang (willo, kristin, hez, darren, & i) went to the air guitar regional championships @ the independent - a SOLD OUT show! to watch people playing imaginary instruments!?! awesome.
the MC/host was so charismatic & adorable and both willo & i were totally crushing on him - tee hee! plus, he has some mad air guitar skillz. we were waaaaay in the back for the 1st round, so during the "intermission" hez & darren & i weaseled our way up front (score!) and willo, being the smart cookie she is, was able to find us for the second round.

there were three contestants that really stood out for me - rodney thunderpants, flying V, and hot licks houlihan. after the first round, i wasn't really sure who was going to take the crown - but hot licks did solicit an "i want to see that AGAIN!" from hez, which was cute. awww yeah. round two was intense - and hysterical! but it was our dear hot licks who won over the judges and the crowd with his sweet moves - and he'll be representing the bay area in new york at the national championships. go hot licks!!!

i still think that buzz should enter next year - he'll blow the competition away!!!

friday was my last "official" day of work at banana republic (i'm staying on as a helper or what my stepdad referred to as a "substitute teacher, but with clothes instead of kids" - haha!). what a relief!!! retail is HARD, and i am not sad to be leaving it behind. no sir.
friday night i met up w/ my long lost friend craig, who has been in a self-imposed work hibernation for the past few months, and our friend fred, and we headed down to natalie's for a kegger!!! haha - hilarious. the night started off smooth enough, but then many drinks were had - maybe too many drinks - and maybe i accidently dropped my camera and maybe now it's broken. dang!!! BUT, willo said that it should be under warranty still and that canon should be able to fix it - i hope so, b/c i feel like my life is over without it!!! haha - sad, but true.
i was able to take some fun photos of the night up until the point where i broke my dang camera - and here they are!

last night willo & i went to the regina spektor show @ the independent (again!) - she was amazing!!! she's such a cutie little pixie of a gal, with quirky lyrics and she has a mesmerizing voice. she uses her entire range and does these fun little noises while she sings and she seems like she's having the best time ever while she's up on stage and i wanted to give her a big hug! soooo cute!!!

after the show, willo & i met up w/ ryan for some drinkies @ fly bar (bar fly?!? did we ever decide what it was called?) to send him off on his 2.5 week trip to amsterdam, edinburgh, and london - fun! it was great hanging out with him and getting in as much ryan-time as possible to tide us over for the next few weeks!!!

today is an absolutely gorgeous day in the city!!! it's downright HOT, actually - i stepped out of my apartment this morning to run to the grocery store and i about had a heat stroke - okay, so maybe it's not THAT hot, but it is uncharacteristically warm today!!! it's almost like summer. wow, what a concept!!!
i also got to chat & catch up with two friends whom i haven't gotten a chance to talk to in a while - my dearest bimb barbie (colin) who drove out here with me last year when i moved, and the lovely nupur - who just graduated from business school with her MBA last week! way to go, nupie nu-nu!!! she is a master now. heh heh.
happy sunday - oh!!! and duh, HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!! moms are neat.
