coachella!
this past weekend i had my very first coachella experience. i will say that it was HOT (holy crap, it was "hot, hot, hotter than hell") and i got sunburnt - but other than those drawbacks it was KICK ASS!!! w00t!

more photos from the weekend can be viewed here. willo's photos here.
this festival experience was definitely different than my first one @ bonnaroo two summers ago - for one, willo scored us a sweet pad in indio and i didn't have to camp. yessssssss. two - there wasn't a torrential downpour and lots of "mud". yay!
highlights of the weekend included: celebration (willo turned me on to them - they were awesome! the singer is badass and reminded me a bit of karen O - i've been listening to their disc nonstop since i got back), my morning jacket (always rawktacular), lady sovereign, wolfmother, wolf parade (hi, wolves), amadou & mariam, eagles of death metal, mogwai, and dungen. i also saw the like (who willo & i both agreed had tightened up alot since we first saw them back in november or december), the new amsterdams (blech), the walkmen (only caught a few songs - but did hear "little house of savages"!), animal collective, ladytron, depeche mode, the rakes, youth group, mates of state (cuties), metric, bloc party(from the beer tent), digable planets (also from the beer tent), and scissors sisters.
i also got to see my favorite frenchy mcfrencherson obsessions - phoenix. i weasled my way all the way up to the front row (hi, dork) and was psyched when they played "if i ever feel better", "too young", and "everything is everything" among other older songs - but their new stuff? i just couldn't get into it, which made me sad. it was too garage rock - and i've grown to expect more groovelicious dance rock numbers from them! bring back the phoenix that i know and love! doooooo it!!! *pout*
the whole weekend was awesome, and i have to give a shout out to my girl jem for driving my arse all the way down to so.cal and back and for grooving out to sweet tunes in her sweet ride! and it was great meeting aubrey (who i found out is practically my next door neighbor!) and of course getting to hang with all my crazy show ho peeps. AWWWWWW YEAH!
