trainwreck city. population me.

holy cow i had an AWESOME joint birthday party last night with hez and all of my kick ass, rawktacular friends. probably a little too much fun because i did something i have not done since i was in college - ali got a little sicky. awwww man! hahaha. but hey, you're only 27 once, right? right.

i am blaming this on the two shots of fernet that hairstylist to the stars (and by stars i mean me, willo, misty, hez, and kate) and all-around troublemaker paul bought us at the end of the night. because i think i was doing pretty well until then. and then i jumped on ryan king and we fell on the floor and that's probably when i knew i was in trouble. ;)

apart from the unfortunate footnote to my evening i had an AMAZING time and was so thankful to have such awesome friends come out and celebrate my birthday with me! and the fact that my "future husband" (tee, hee) danny was here this weekend was a splendid birthday gift in and of itself. oh! but i also got presents - which i was totally not expecting! man oh man, did i mention that i have awesome friends?!?

willo got me the rock snob's dictionary and the nick zinner photography book i hope you are all happy now and she also let me have her copy of fader with jenny lewis on it (funny side note: when i got to dinner last night, willo was like "ohmigosh, i love your dress! you're looking very jenny lewis tonight - are you trying to make me fall in love with you?!?" hahaha.); misty got me an sparkly hello kitty business card holder (!), fun asian hair ties, a loverly green scarf, and something else that i really awesome, i just know it, but i cannot for the life of me remember right now and it's killing me (and all of my presents are still in willo's car)!!! oh wait, i remember now, it was a totally fantastic METRIC wristband! awwwww yeah! kate made me chocolate chip cookies from scratch - and they're even mini-sized for one bite enjoyment! hez got me the top two ali essentials: a gift card to safeway AND a gift card to starbucks. hi, my friends know me all too well. must. have. coffee.

dev & patrick came down from sacramento for the partay and devon made me the cutest easter/birthday basket with real chocolate eggs (like, real egg shells that she somehow emptied out and put delicious chocolate in! she is so betty crocker fabulous, that girl!). lyne got me a really cool incense burner/candle contraption with a cute painted porcelein elephant incense holder and jojo got me two awesome buttons that say "save CBGB" and "eat more chocolate". again, how perfect!

but really what meant the most to me was just having all of my fantastic friends, old and new, all in one place and it made me realize that even when things get tough in my life i have the best friends in the world to support me and show me that they love me. and who could ask for anything more than that? not this girl. no way.

super-duper ginormous thank yous to misty and willo for orchestrating dinner and the party. i love you guys and am so lucky to have kick ass girl friends like YOU!!!!
