missed the bus.

i'm going to rant/bitch/whine here for a second...i apologize in advance.

i have a neighborhood coffeeshop that i go to every day. seriously, every single day. for over a year. they know my name, they know what i drink. they're friendly, i love them. however, i do not love how freaking slooooooooow they can be.

so far this week, on TWO occasions, i have missed the bus to go to work b/c i was standing there waiting for what i deem an excessively long amount of time for my order. today it was b/c i also ordered a bagel, which they didn't even start making until AFTER i got my coffee! what?!? ugh. i almost told them to forget it so i could make a run for the bus as i saw it creep up to the stop.

i realize that maybe i should try to get there earlier to account for this, but that would require less sleep & i'm selfish about my sleep. heh. i also think that it's not that difficult to multi-task. or maybe i've been poisoned/brainwashed by starbucks & their lightning fast drink-making speed. this place consistently makes the drinks ONE AT A TIME. and i don't think that efficiency is something that should be exclusive to ginormous corporately-owned establishments.

and actually, come to think of it, it IS a franchise! i guess i could go somewhere else, but it's very conveniently located next to the MUNI stop & i've also developed a sense of loyalty to them. me and my damn loyal nature! haha. and it's not all the time, only part of the time. what to do, what to do...i'd hate to give in the the man and start going to starbucks or some other place. blaaaaaaaah.

wow, this post is lame. hahahaha. i'd better think of something more fun to post STAT!

I think you should tell them!! Starbucks are taking over - all over - and if your coffee chain are offerng poor service they will gradually lose customers and eventually get bought out by the one chain that we should be trying to keep at bay!! Don't get me wrong, I have great respect for Starbucks and the way they have built their business but the small places need us all to stick up for them and tell them (or at least their head office) if they aren't meeting peoples' expectations. Anyway, rant OFF ha ha ;-)
