i am seriously considering starting a music only blog - separate from my (mis)adventures.
events have unfolded in the past week or so that have rekindled my ambition to write more frequently about the rock music. it's been a turbulent, emotional week - but i guess that's needed sometimes. to wake you up out of your coma of familiarity. so you're not ten years older and, while good at what you do, creatively unfulfilled.
some people do not need to be creatively fulfilled - in their jobs. it's not to say that they don't have a passion for something, but they don't need that passion to extend into their vocation. i am not one of those people. upon contemplating a job change (which, btw, looks like doesn't have to happen! yet.) i decided that the only thing i should be doing is working in rock. for rock. yeah, that's right, you heard me. ROCK!
i feel fortunate to have found a job that isn't just a job but is, like, fun. i mean, as much as sorting out lost merch packages and booking last minute flights sort of sucks, it's really not bad at all - and you gotta love the perks. best. perks. ever! sometimes i think back to where i was two years ago, working in a shitty job with a great deal of security and at least a respectable income, but completely miserable and in danger of losing my soul. ick. now look at me! soul intact! w0000tah!
anyway, so this almost crisis has reawakened my inner aspiring legendary rock journalist and thus, i will work toward starting a music blog - so far the only idea i have for a name is "thinking about foxes" - which i am quite fond of. but if you have other ideas, send them my way! also, has anyone else noticed that there is a dearth of girl music bloggers out there? bullshit, i say. i'm feeling very riot grrrl about this - haha. it's a blogging revolution!
