swapping is like shopping, but without the guilt.
i think miss alice tiara said that, or at least something similiar to that, on sunday at the girlie clothes swap (hosted by the loverly & gracious sharon) this past weekend.
i haven't done a clothes swap since high school probably - so this was a treat. and i loves me some clothes. and some shopping. it might be my second favorite thing to do (after going to shows). what can i say, i'm a clothes whore!?! hey, it could be worse - i could be a real whore. ba-dum-ching! hee hee.
it was a very pleasant sunday afternoon - sharon provided mimosas, misty brought cupcakes, hez made a very yummy quiche, abby (i think) made her grandmas special recipe deviled eggs (i think everyone's grandma has a special way to make deviled eggs - at least mine did - and no offense to anyone else's grandma, but mom-mom's super-secret recipe deviled eggs kick ASS. trust me, i'll make them for you sometime. you won't believe how good they are!), and there were lots of half-naked girls running around. now, aren't YOU jealous?

now that i'm in my late(r) 20's, i'm much more comfortable with my squishy and imperfections and don't really care if my girl_friends see them. i never would've been like that in my late teen's - early 20's, even when i was a meager size 0. it's nice to get to a place where you're comfortable with your body, even if you'd like to lose 5 or 10 lbs, you know if it doesn't happen it's no big whoop.
anyway, i scored some sweeeeet items - two cute dresses from misty (thank god i have smallish boobs, hee hee), a jumper/dress & a tank from alice (i think), a never-been-worn-or-detagged grey sweater with multi-color stripes from the gizzap, a cute green zip sweater, a cute empire waist stripey white, blue, and green top, some kick ass scarves from jess, an oh-so-hot-right-now denim skirt from sharon, super sweet silver bangley bangles, and i'm sure other stuff that i can't remember right now. that's a lot!
funnily enough, during the swap, willo, misty, hez, and i kept picking things up and saying to each other "oh, this is cute - do you like this?" to which the other person would reply "uh, that's mine" - hee hee! we obviously know each others taste/style a little too well!
after the swap, alice, jess, abby, and i went to medjool for a rooftop afternoon cocktail and then stopped by the park to see the man clan for a little while. such a super fun afternoon, and i must say it was nice to be around girls and only girls for a change (for the majority of the day). gotta love the ladies! w00t w00t!
